Signifying the conclusion to Rolls-Royce’s era of exceptional coach-built cars, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud was the amalgamation of how a Rolls-Royce should be and the exact type of vehicle they had spent so many years developing towards. Epitomised by the trademark, ultra-luxurious appeal, the Silver Cloud became the ultimate tourer for comfort and pleasure, with an extremely smooth ride, ands the later 2 series being fitted with the 6.2l V8 which very successfully replaced their reputable inline-6 which had been their go to engine for the majority of their post-war cars.
Originally registered the 10/04/1962, this wonderful example was supplied to its first owner, Mr A. Knight of Exeter, by Jack Barclay LTD of London a following 7 days later. Ordered in the fitting, Shell Silver over Tudor Grey, with a Tan Hide interior along with being originally fitted the optional extra of electric windows and electric aerial, which are all still present today.
The current vendor has thoroughly cherished this charming Cloud II since purchasing it in 2019, accruing nearly £30,000 in invoices for work completed by Ristes Motors in Nottingham over their ownership, in order to correct and recommission the car to a high standard. We are told that the interior remains mainly original, including the seats and dashboard, however benefits from a new headlining. The car performs exactly as intended and is very pleasant to drive over long, cruising distances. The clock current displays 28,499 miles, however this is not believed to be genuine.
