1947 Jaguar MK IV 3.5l
The Jaguar MK IV, produced between 1945-1949 and offered with a selection of 3 different engines, 1.5l, 2.5l and the 3.5l, was Jaguars re-entry into the car market following WWII, and landed with relative success, especially within the US. The car was designed with the intention for export to the American market, therefore producing far less RHD vehicles than LHD.
We are proud to present this stunning, 1947 Jaguar MK IV, with the 3.5 litre engine, offered in an absolutely superb condition. This stunning example is an original UK registered car, registered in 1948. Displaying a genuine 89000 miles, the car remains in a largely unrestored condition. The original, green interior hasn’t been touched, and is still in a remarkable condition for its age, including wood, leather and headliner. The car was repainted in 2014, back to its original Sage Green official Jaguar colour, which is fully documented, along with having the engine rebuilt at 83000 miles. The gearbox has been converted to a 5-speed, however the original Moss-box is available with the car. It has also had a stainless-steel exhaust fitted. The trafficators and sliding sunroof are all still in working condition.
Present with the MK IV is also a good level of service and work history, including the original logbook. It also comes with the original tool kit.
This excellent example is described as being in a “fantastic condition” having never been fully restored. The stunning coachwork resembles a beginning of the golden era for British engineering following WWII, and up-holds a feeling of prominence and significance still present today, and is a very welcome sight or addition to any enthusiast.
