1972 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 2+2 Coupe
We are excited to offer this charming 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 2+2 Coupe V12, fitted with its original 4-speed manual box, and 59,000 miles from new.
Registered the 30/06/1973, YTA 842L was original sold from Eyles and Coxeter in Oxford. This example remained in England until 1980, when it was bought by an enthusiast in the Netherlands. During its time abroad it is believed to have stayed with the same owner up until 2013, undergoing a full body restoration, respray and engine overhaul, but remaining RHD, until it was eventually sold to a buyer back over here in England in 2015. Since repatriation it has had 2 previous owners, and undergone many various works to sustain the E-Type’s condition including the addition of power steering. It has been routinely serviced most years of use, and has been looked after by Gibson Classics since 2020.
Finished in its original colour of Signal Red, the paint work and body have a very nice finish and patina for an older restoration, as well as all of the chrome work. The Webasto-style sunroof also operates very easily and shows very little sign of usage. The black interior remains largely original, and displays a charming tidy patina, in keeping with the low mileage. The 5.3l V12 performs as intended following regular oil and filter changes, and feels dialled-in with the tight feeling 4-speed manual, emphasising the quintessential E-Type experience.
Unfortunately there is a lack of history from its time in the Netherland following an extensive search from its first owner back in England, however there is a full history since its repatriation in 2015, including its heritage certificate.
This example presents a fantastic opportunity to get into the E-Type marque with a genuine and ready to drive condition, ready for its next owner.
