1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II FHC
Introduced in 1961, the all British made E-Type became the car to have for celebrities and enthusiasts alike. Its timeless, sleek and iconic nature gave it the title of “The most beautiful car” given by Enzo Ferrari himself and is arguably one of the most beautiful cars to ever roll off the production line. This car revolutionised the way sports cars are built and defined what a true sports car is and should be. To own a car like this offers an experience like no other, and once you have driven it, the standard for what you call a “sports car” will immediately change. There is so much written about this car and it is very difficult to describe it in a few words, however to own this car is an amazing opportunity to experience it.
This car was supplied brand new to the first owner in Los Angeles in 1969. Having not been driven frequently, the second owner decided to purchase it from him and imported it back to the UK in 1989, owning it for 37 years, before being purchased by the current owner. The car has been unused for sometime and has been in storage. The speedometer shows the mileage to be 55019, however could be inaccurate. This car would require a very small amount of TLC to return to its former glory, however offers itself in excellent condition, having much work done. The previous owner had rebuilt the engine, which shoes excellent oil pressure. The car itself starts very easily and drives fine, however it would benefit from a carburettor and timing check and setup. The interior is extremely clean and the engine bay is nicely detailed. The only issues are minor stone chips and the horn doesn’t work. Recent work includes: new carpets, new s/s exhaust, new chrome wire wheels and complete overhaul of real suspension. The car comes with: a spare wheel, jack, tools and an air con unit which isn’t fitted but available, along with some old receipts and paperwork.
