Griffin EC145 – Supercharged Triumph Dragbike

We are excited to offer a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine piece of British drag racing history.

Named the Griffin EC145, the bike was originally designed as a quarter mile sprint competitor, built at the De Havilland works, better know for their aircraft construction, in Hatfield by Dave Lecoq and David Hamer in the 1970s, and designed around the supercharged 500cc Triumph 5T twin engine. The Griffin campaigned at some major quarter-mile events during the 70s including Santa Pod and the Ramsey Sprint.

The bike remains in its original condition, in a non-running state as it has remained on display in the vendors home for a number of years. It is accompanied by a documented competition history and pictures, as well as spare parts. There would likely be some work to get it running again, however presents an exciting opportunity as either a running bike or a static display.
