1964 Velocette Viper Venom 500cc
This beautiful Velocette Venom started life as a 350cc Viper. As the Venom offered much more power and were much more expensive, being a 500, many people decided to convert the cylinder and the head of the 350 engine using parts off the Venom, making it identical to the Venom’s 500.
This bike has a rare squish head conversion, which meant that the cylinder heads produced a better performance than the standard version as they were specially machined and had a hemispherical combustion chamber.
It exhibits itself in a brilliant condition, as shown by the pictures, and presented in this stunning black and silver colour scheme. Having been fully refurbished, it has had a comprehensive amount of work done to with-hold its great condition. Work includes:
Matt black fishtail exhaust, chrome clip-ons, front windscreen, polished stainless steel mudguards, alloy flanged wheels with stainless spokes, polished fuel filler cap, one piece seat, polished alloy crankcase cover and a central white speedometer.
This bike starts easily with a 12v coil Boyer Branson ignition easy starter, and runs beautifully with the 500cc alfin barrel and squish head. The unleaded, high grade fuel only tank has a very good internal condition and has a remote Leyland oil filter set up. It also has a discreet professional indicator wired system.
Having had 3 previous owners, there is a fairly large amount of history, with records of MOTs back to the 1980s, along with old tax discs and invoices. Its last MOT was in 2019 as it has been used very little since. It is also a factory matching numbered bike.
